Team Shan

Team Shan was named after Shanna (Shan) Larsen
who was only 24 when she lost her life to breast cancer.
Team Shan
was initiated by four of Shanna’s friends participating in breast cancer awareness fundraising events including the annual Knock Cancer Out of the Park/Shanna Larsen Memorial (www.kcootp.com) ball tournament held in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario, Canada.
Her friends continue to raise awareness about breast cancer effecting young women.

Team Shan Breast Cancer Awareness For Young Women (Team Shan)
is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to raise awareness that
breast cancer is not just a disease of older women.

Team Shan's purpose is to educate young women, health care professionals
and the public about early detection, risk reduction and prevention of breast cancer.  Awareness and education activities include the development and dissemination
of resource materials, facilitation of breast cancer awareness campaigns for young women, presentations in high schools and on college and university campuses,
publications and research support.

Team Shan's vision is early detection of breast cancer and positive outcomes
for young women diagnosed with the disease.

Team Shan Breast Cancer Awareness For Young Women (Team Shan)
was incoporated as a not-for-profit organization in 2009.
